Because life doesn't happen on a perfect schedule, and your education demands year-round attention, you may begin your law school career in the spring, or the fall, at South Texas College of Law. A major part of our mission is to make classes and schedules flexible enough to meet all our students' needs. The admission of new students for the spring semester is unique among Texas law schools, but viewed as absolutely essential by South Texas College of Law to assure that our students keep moving, uninterrupted, towards their goal of a law degree.

Q: Can I apply for part-time admissions for the spring semester?

A: South Texas College of Law currently only enrolls part time students in the fall semester.

Q: By when must I take the LSAT to be considered for the spring term?

A: Spring candidates must take the LSAT on or before October to be considered for spring

Q: If I enroll for the spring semester, do I graduate in May?

A: Spring enrollees graduate in December. Most December graduates will take the February administration of the bar exam.

Q: Can spring applicants participate in on-campus interviews?

A: Spring applicants have the same opportunities that are available to fall applicants. Spring applicants are able to study-abroad, participate in moot court/mock trial and in the on-campus interview program.

Q: Is it easier to be admitted for the spring semester?

A: The spring semester is not any more/less competitive than the fall semester. We encourage you to apply for the term that best fits your schedule.

Q: If I get admitted for the spring, can I defer until the fall?

A: South Texas College of Law does not grant admissions deferrals. If you are admitted and do not attend, you will be required to reapply for subsequent semesters.
